All you need now is a little steam comming off that cup o' joe, and the scene would be complete. _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.

Yes lol
As soon as I get time to learn how to script particles, I can add steam to the black tea. The platform I use, only comes with strange fantasy fountains, swarms of sperm and billowing smoke fires.
I also considered, if the tea had steam and was hot, some dork may touch it and sue me, then I would have to put safety notices everywhere.
The environments I create are for business meetings. Our company develops solutions for business, using VR. The user is around 1/5th the height of a chess peice, and the meeting is held on the chess board. _________________ Politeness is priceless when received, cost nothing to own or give, yet some cannot afford.

If you want to add any of the pictures to the Gallery, be my guest, it is relevant that most of these scenes I have only been able to produce since using DeleD.
I would add, some scenes contain content created by others. I do have permissions to use the content within personal and commercial projects, so there are no copyright issues. The content is available through a variety of internet based outlets, free of charge. Below are some links to places I got some of the content.

http://www.the3dstudio.com/product_search.aspx?id_category_0=1&sort=rank&search=free&page=8
http://artist-3d.com/free_3d_models/01architecture_design.php?s=14&np=16&srt=
Of course, I didn't just simply download a load of stuff and throw it all together. There are many hours spent preparing the models, remapping materials and optimising them. Creating the scenes and buidlings/rooms, adding components such as skirting, coving, windows, doors, lighting and of course making some models myself from scratch. _________________ Politeness is priceless when received, cost nothing to own or give, yet some cannot afford.

Absolutely a good job. I like to see well textured and lightmapped scenes.

Thanks
I've been busy creating some more worlds using DeleD:
Based upon a 'dockland' setting for 20 users.
This one is a Auditorium to accomadate around 100 users.
This link shows the roof better and inside.
This is a remote Island setting for 50 users.

Amazing! You should make a tutorial when you have time for it. Would help people to create such amazing enviroments. |

Thank you for your comment, and I'm flattered as I'm a pure novice.
I begin most projects with an item, or a 'feature' I want to tryout. The Auditorium for instance began with me trying out the 'Subtract' feature, the Space Hub, the Hollow feature. The ChessBoard world, was created/developed around the chessboard with a vision of scaling up and having a mirror in the room.
I do start with a vision of what I want, then go 'shopping' for textures, any models/items that are totally beyond my making, all from good sites with credible model makers and proper licenses. I never allow that first vision to dictate the direction the build goes, it simply evolves.
Having a sense of scale and what is there in a building that is perhaps 'unseen' by the vast majority, comes from 35+ years in the Construction Industry
There is so much I do not know about 3D modelling programmes, I would not dare presume to write a manual when there is already so much talent here. If there is anything you see that you would like to know, how I acheived it, I would be more than willing to give my explaination, if for no other reason, someone may offer me a smarter way to do things LOL _________________ Politeness is priceless when received, cost nothing to own or give, yet some cannot afford.

My latest project:
You won't be able to see it, but I included a small mesh of chaulk dust in front of the toppled cue chaulk. You can see it when you wander round the table. Again, like the Chessboard, this is a large environment, whereby the avatar/viewer is around 1.5 times taller than the Cue ball. _________________ Politeness is priceless when received, cost nothing to own or give, yet some cannot afford.

I've created this full build, without using any other models, everything is my creation. I've listed a couple of views, so you can see the build better.
View One:
View Two:
View Three:
I scaled it so I have seating for 96 out of 100 users, within the main building, albeit they can wander about and still hear/see, the voice and text communication.
The overall environment is less than 6.5mb, it does take around a good 2 minutes to render after downloading, before you can move about.
The stainned glass textures actually allow coloured light to pass through and show up on the inner surfaces of the main halls walls and floor. I created png versions with an alpha mask, then used the alpha blend mode in the materials settings. _________________ Politeness is priceless when received, cost nothing to own or give, yet some cannot afford.

That looks fantastic. Which program are you rendering them in? _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.

DeleD latest version release. I've created everything in DeleD and rendered the scenes, then export the whole scene for hosting in our platform for use by our clients.
I have to say, despite downloading and installing/using many other programmes, I found DeleD to be the most 'natural' way of working and it ticks most of the boxes for features. I've also used the building tools in Second Life, Atmosphere, Worlds.com, apart from navigating and having meshes etc, they are similar to DeleD, but DeleD seems like a comfortable pair of slippers in use, so aids my workflow and output quality.
It certainly competes very well with the ilks of 3DMax, Maya etc and although equally priced to Blender, Blender having 1000% more functions, it is also very confusing to the novice. _________________ Politeness is priceless when received, cost nothing to own or give, yet some cannot afford.
