It would be very helpful if the modal dialog of Custom Properties, is a window pane like Create/Edit, Materials and Object panes.
In this way, the workflow could be speeded up dramatically with just one mouse click for the selection. Now, in order to view/change the custom properties of an object, I need 2 mouse clicks.

BTW: When multiple objects are selected the Custom Properties dialog should became inactive. Now it doesn't work correctly.

It would be very helpful also if there was two shortcut keys: One for hiding the selected objects and another one for showing all hidden objects

I have to admit, the Object Properties window feels like a last minute bolt on. To rescale anything, or check polygons for an object, I have to continously swap those tabs, or have the tabs as floating windows, loosing workspace. I would find it useful if the properties window when I select say Move, would show the objects current values, that would save me swapping at least once to see what they are, before swapping back to change them.

With my bad memory, I spend a lot of time clicking between windows LOL
