I have been using this simple normal/bump mapping programme.
http://ssbump-generator.yolasite.com/
I have also been using GPU MeshMapper 1.2 from ATI. Albeit it is somewhat lacking in information from what I see, in addition, its a pig to find, ATI/AMD seem to hide their stuff away for some strange reason. If you understand what this is doing, I suspect you will find it interesting.
Both programmes are free to use. _________________ Politeness is priceless when received, cost nothing to own or give, yet some cannot afford.

Oh now this is interesting - the normal maps w/ ambient occlusion.
A while back I was reading up on how Valve does some of its shader effects and came across using that sort of normal map (and I thought to myself, hmm how'd I make a texture like that).
He has a link to just a normal map generator (probably more useful for more people), and it has a layering feature where you can combine multiple maps with textures lit from different directions.
This is a good find that I'll be bookmarking heh. |
