Well, maby AWM Mars is right.
but instead of doing both, you must select one of them

So the option of a Christmas theme,
or a New Year theme.

And in each theme the designer is free to build what he or she likes, as long it has (EDIT - At Least) 3 props in it (EDIT- From the list below).

Christmas
- Snow
- .......... EDIT - Sleigh
- .......... EDIT - Presents
- .......... EDIT - Fireplace
- .......... EDIT - Sprig of Holly

New Year
- fireworks
- food
- .......... EDIT - Glass of Bubbly
- .......... EDIT - Big Ben

And a timeline of 3-4 weeks ( one month ) is fine i think. No need to make it longer, because than you get the problem that some can spend 100 hours on it, and other only 20 because of other business.

I think people should be able to enter both, if they have the time/energy etc.

Uhmm. most contests only allow one 'scene'. I still think one scene is the best, but you can do something, that you combine the two themes into one scene.

So , for example you take:

Snow - christmas
firework - new year
presents - christmas

and ofcouse you may do more 'theme objects' as long you have a min. of 3.
this way it is a bit more fair for everyone. Because some don't have the time to make 2 scenes, and it will be unfair if others have 2 entered.

Hmm, I see your point, but even submitting 2 scenes, you can only 'win' one.. and consider, if your scene deserves to win, then why not?

Are we going to allow animated scenes as well as static scenes, than can be filmed?

I'll see what I can put together after I finish the current project. Maybe a nice snowy medieval market place with a reindeer roasting over coals will do. It's nice to have time to play with this now that I'm between semesters! Smile

Yeah well, i can't make the contest as well.
There were some family problems so i didn't spend a lot of time behind a computer. Also i have a really big project coming on and i still need to learn some extra business skills to make that project work.

(Project = 5 a 6 months, 40 - 50 hours a week, made in UDK) Wink

And i find it terrible that i couldn't make this contest, because i was looking forwarth it for a long time.... (bad english i know)

Oh come on guys, don't give up. It's not that you have to make a master piece or something. Just something for fun and all. Confused Smile

Again, Happy New Year to all of You,

but, Jeroen, after the community has proven what's possible with DeleD, i see this problem:
DeleD meanwhile is used to do really sophisticated projects, and all of us doing so could not multiply TIME.
Be assured that i am working with your program any day and still enjoy using it.
But to start a project ONLY for this contest, that match the standard we all have reached, is something only for fulltimers.
So don't mind, if this years contest will have only some competitors.

I've completed my entry for this Winter Competition.... I found it really enjoyable, and what's more, I can honestly say, I have learnt more from doing this competition.. win or loose, I'm happy for the experience. This is my first competition entry, and won't be my last.

If we are to keep our entries until the 14th, then I'll post screen-shots then, if we can post beforehand, then I'm more than happy to post sooner.

But it doesn't have to match the standard you've reached. Would be cool if it did, but in the end, the compo is more about fun and creativity than about creating a master piece. So I see no reason why a parttimer couldn't enter this compo too. Smile

Sure, you're allowed to post pictures sooner. In fact, past compo's have proven this motivates others too. So bring em on! Very Happy
