I asked this already, sometime ago. But because this is one of the most time-consuming work, when you create irregular
or natural things and must have an eye on polycount, here is my question again:
Often objects start as cylinders with 16-24 sides, but they are cone-like.
So you don't have to have 24 edges un the thin end - and want to decrease the amount of edges, the thinner the object becomes.
I then take some polys, delete them, pick all vertices around that "hole" and fill it, so i can connect verts in a way to reduce polys.
I do that REALLY OFTEN. Like this:
Is it possible to create a method, that (after selecting some polys) do a "Refill", to combine all polys to one, bad, not-flat one?
With 1 click?
Please... |

So to be exact, you want to select some adjacent polygons, merge them into one (even though the resulting polygon might not be flat) and then triangulate that polygon?
It's an interesting feature but to be honest, it seems most programmers are too busy with their own things so don't expect this to be implemented soon. _________________ Check out Figuro, our online 3D app! More powerful 3D tools for free. |
