Hi and welcome to the forums and Deled.
Look at the end of the half cylinder, the one that extends passed the other. You can see the groups of vertices that form the cylinder. Look at a viewport that shows the object behind it, and now select the opposite pairs of vertices from the extended cylinder and drag them back to match the profile of the object behind.
Like this:
Then switch viewport to the opposite object profile, drag the other profile vertices to match. Now you have a perfect mitre joint, which is easier for texturing.
Once you have formed your Mitre, you can weld the vertices. I normally create one internal and one external object, then simply drag the length to suit. I hope this helps. _________________ Politeness is priceless when received, cost nothing to own or give, yet some cannot afford.

You could also chop the end off at 45 degrees...
Create a single sided rectangle and rotate it so it is at 45 degrees
to the end of the cylinder and move it to where you want
to chop off the cylinder.
Then select the rectangle followed by the cylinder and click "slice".
Cheers. _________________ ------

This is really a great example of why DeleD needs a 'snap to vertex' feature. I run into this all of the time - wanting to move a vertex to the location of another vertex that isn't necessarily right on the grid. |

Have you tried using the weld tool? I've used that a lot to "weld" models together. It's a bit of work though.
Also there are CSG tools that can help you. I don't have a lot of good experiences with those because they always "optimized" my models, thus chainging them too much. But they work very quickly so they might work ok for you. |

You can allways turn optimized option off .
