|
|
Hi,
i started some weeks ago with Deled and i want start today with create the complete textures of my building. But before i started to textured everything, i tried the lightmap.
My lightmapsettings are from the wiki:
Lightmap Size: 1024x1024 pixels
Individual Texture Minimum Size: 8x8
Individual Texture Maximum Size: 128x128
Number of (Blur) Filter Passes: 2
Normal Auto Smooth Crease Angle: 66
Every wall without a substracted cylinder looks nice and i love it, but every wall with a substraced window creates broken shadows:
In the wireframe:
Is theire a workarround availbale for this problem i mean i also tried it in a blank new object and i have still the same problem:
Thanks for the help

Not sure if this is the answer, but are you using the setting of BMP or JPG for your lightmaps? BMP offer better quality.
I also set my minimum texture size to 32x32 amd maximum around 256x256.
You may also want to try triangulating the model before lightmapping.
Myself personally, I would create the openings in the wall plane using crude formations, then insert a more detailed arch, which would cover the crude openings. This may also fix the lightmapping where the two faces are at right angles. This would reduce the amount of faces/polygons to the window opening in the wall, making the lightmap smoother. _________________ Politeness is priceless when received, cost nothing to own or give, yet some cannot afford.
