I create a cube and texture it, still in Object mode I scale it and the texture remains the same, it dosn't get bigger or smaller, I go into face mode, select all surfaces and scale the texture, I go back to object mode and scale the object and the texture also scales (gets bigger or smaller). It seems after you go into face mode and scale you cannot scale the object without scaling the texture when you are back in object mode. Is there any way around this, I want to scale my object without scaling the texture even after I've been in face mode.

Click on the Object tab in the right window pane, and there will be an 'AutoUV' attribute. You want this set to OFF if you don't want the coordinates to change.
