I have been following this application for quite a while now.

http://www.stonetrip.com/

There is a free version that works only on the web. However, for a very reasonable price, you can publish to a wide range of devices (I have not tried this). The application comes with a server as part of the free download, which seems to have no restrictions (quote: 2 to 2,000 users connected).

I did play the demo using the supplied desktop player and it seems a very capable peice of kit. However, it would not play in my 64bit IE9, kept saying switch to 32bit mode Question I even put the website in my combatibility mode without resolution to the problem (is there a 32bit mode in IE?).

The forums seem quite active, and some of the errors/bugs are being fixed. I like the fact there is a highly detailed plugin for 3DMax, albeit that will be very limiting for anyone not possessing that. It seems to do a lot of handholding and checking/error correcting from within 3DMax. Not sure of any other workflow, especially a stable one that uses DAE formats.

If you don't do anything else, its worth downloading just to play the demo Very Happy , the effects are stunning. I would have liked to have seen more working examples using the application, it promises to cover a wide arena of use.

Sounds like a very nice piece of software, indeed!

Question: how can it be used together with DeleD? Is there a working pipeline available?

Personally, I would export from DeleD in OBJ format into 3DMax, then use the plugin exporter provided by Stonetrip, which I believe is DAE format.

I have found the OpenCollada http://www.opencollada.org/ to be the most stable and reliable exporter. A SDK is available again https://github.com/KhronosGroup/OpenCOLLADA under MIT license.

I have yet to try the Collada exporter from DeleD. My previous experience is, that it doesn't fully support the format and I get some strange effects (see Torque Post).

I've just discovered that Win7 64bit comes with both a 64bit and 32bit versions of IE. In order to use the webplayer, you need to run the 32bit version. DOH, gotta love Bill Gates thought logic there.

Start, All Programmes, you will see both versions there.
