People have been requesting me to organize a winter competition this year again. Which, of course, is a great idea! Very Happy

So here goes:

The Compo
- Theme: old church (from the outside!) covered in snow and winter decorations.
- Needs: an ancient church. And lots of snow! And all kinds of other stuff!
- Props: Pick any 3 out of: graveyard, ice sculpture, ghost, red wine, colored decorations, sheep, torches, church tower with bell, x-mas presents, fire place, hot chocolate, x-mas tree, snow sled, candles, reindeer, fireworks.

The obligatory props don't need to prominently featured at all, as long as they are visible. All sorts of twisted combinations, additional elements, open-minded interpretations etc. are allowed.

The rules

We need at least 8 competitors ! The prices are there, so let's get some people in here as well! Spread the word! Very Happy

1. You need to be a member of the forum to join the competition. If you want to register an account just to show your competition entry, that's fine, but please introduce yourself here too.
2. The compo will run from December 24 to midnight, January 31, Amsterdam time (GMT+1). If people need more time, the end-date can be changed.
3. All entries should be made in DeleD, without any postprocessing. Edit: you can submit up to 5 pictures of your scene.
4. The winners are picked by Jeroen.
5. You need to submit your scene in DXS format to Jeroen, so he can validate the entry.
6. Post any questions/remarks you might have about this competition on the forum. Right here in this thread will do fine.

The Rewards
- 50 euros (or 66 US dollars) for the winner, payable via Paypal. But if more than 15 contenders play along, price money goes up to 100 euros! Very Happy
- A Single Developer license of Smart Packer Pro kindly offered by Smart Packer Solutions.
- Having a fun time and sharing that with your fellow DeleD users. Smile
- Eternal fame and glory!

Entering
You can enter the competition by showing your entry in this thread. Note: all entries will be put in the gallery too after the compo is done.

Voting
Jeroen will judge the entries. There will be only one winner, who will be announced in the week after the compo is closed.

Requests
1. Tell your friends!
2. If you would like to sponsor this contest by donating prizes, please contact me a.s.a.p. ! Smile Cool

Edit: altered end-date to January 31.

Does it have to be from the outside?
If so, I have to start over.

I would suggest that as long as your scene shots are showing the outside of the church (and surrounding areas) as the main focal point, that would comply with the rule.
It would be a unique twist to the requirement, showing scenes from outside a church, that just happened to be a toy in a room.

That's indeed what I had in mind when making up the rules for this contest. However, stressless' twist is allowed, as it does actually show a church from the outside.

But remember what I just said... and if you know me a little, you know what I like. Wink

Ok. It's back to the drawing board.

I've just had a nightmare of a week, internet failures, printer breakdown, HD packed up (one with my models etc on).... like UK buses, all come at once. Nett result, haven't worked on my scene for the competition... will continue to do so and present when possible, even if beyond the dealine.

I'll echo those words.
I may be able to complete mine by then. I don't know. Too many 3 day runs going on right now. ( 3 days, 2 nights away from home)
