I know the DeleD web app is coming along nicely, and highly functional. I was just wondering if the native, standalone application was still going to receive updates and support? Are you moving away from that and towards the web app?

Thank you in advance!

It's extremely unlikely that anyone is ever going to work on the original Delphi version again, as far as I can tell. I've been working on the Lazarus port for the past few months though, and intend to keep doing so for the foreseeable future, barring any unforeseen circumstances. You can refer to the thread below this one for more information, or look at the thread I have going on the Lazarus forums.

I have not released anything yet, but when I do I'll have prebuilt binaries available (along with the updated sourcecode, of course). I can tell you that my test builds already perform quite a bit better than the last available "official" EXE, due partly to significant changes I've made to the rendering code, and partly to the fact that the FreePascal compiler in its current state is way, way, way more advanced than the Delphi 7 compiler ever was. By which I mean it's 64-bit capable, is fully aware of and can perform optimizations for CPUs up to and including the Intel Haswell series, supports generics, e.t.c... By contrast, the Delphi 7 compiler was entirely unaware of any CPU newer than the Pentium 4! Laughing

Of course, DeleD is open source, so anyone can actually pick up its sources and continue working on it, but both PJ and I, as original creators, will not be working on it anymore. Other projects, like DeleD Designer, take up all our time.

We do, however, greatly appreciate and support initiatives like the one Akira13 is working on. It would be great to see DeleD CE being brought back to life like that. So please support Akira13 whereever you can, and hope an EXE will be released soon! Smile
