We've installed a chat room here at the Delgine site. It's in testphase right now. Go to http://www.delgine.com/index.php?filename=chat&ReadPhpBBUserData=on to login.

Be aware that it can take a few seconds to login completely. If this chat room works properly, we will make it available through our main site (in the menu). See you there! Smile

granada, d*rn. Autokilled for what reason? My gf had exp/comp, a ban for one week because of a trojan. I checked her computer, and dalnet was right: she had mspmspsv.exe running. Fixed that, but still.

Following that link (http://kline.dal.net/exploits/akills.htm#comp) you'll find the following explanation:

[Exp/Comp]
Nominal Duration : One Week
User Action : Secure your machine and wait for the ban to expire.
Your machine may have been compromised and be advertising it's presence on IRC. Information stored on your PC may be available to unauthorised persons as a result of this security breach. Please check for trojans, viruses and compromised scripts. You can find a freeware trojan scanner from Lockdown Corp. here which may help locate and remove the trojan.

Same as my girlfriend had. I thought they were talking bollocks, but as it turned out they were right: she had an IRC worm running on her computer. I really think you should check to see how clean your computer is (check your running processes)

Two good and free tools:
http://swatit.org/download.html
http://housecall-beta.trendmicro.com/en/start_corp.asp (online scan)

DALnet has been having a lot of problems with exploits, so they now secure themselves pretty darn well.

Ofcourse, I am not saying that there isn't the possibility that you have been k-lined _without_ a good reason. If that is the case, and more people have these problems, we might consider joining a different IRC network. Finding a good network is not that easy though (as we need ChanServ support), so I am not that eager to switch until we know for sure they are doing something wrong.

You might want to try different scanners. Some scanners do not find a particular virus while other scanners do. Just a thought...

I actually spotted the Trojan at Chantal's computer just 'by hand' (looked at the process list, got suspicous at mspmspsv.exe running, google it, removed it). But she is still banned (it might take some time), and *worse*, so am I. Grmbl.

Would it not be blocking your ip address though. Just release it and renew, or is or something more than that.

Fletcher, what browser do you use? I use IE6 and Firefox with the latest Sun VM installed, works like a charm. In the case of Sun technology, a very slow charm, but still.

Could it be your browser is set to 'silently ignore applets if they are signed by an untrusted authority'?
