Hello!

I've got a little problem with Deled, but I've got a feeling it's my own fault.

Whenever I turn on Textured or Lightmapped view in the 3D window, it doesn't do anything. Wireframe and Solid views work fine, but I want to see what my textures are looking like, obviously.

Note that when I say "It doesn't do anything", what that means is, when I switch to Textured or Lightmapped views, the 3D window doesn't update. So if I'm in Solid view and go to switch, the window stays frozen on the last Solid view I had until I change it back to either Wireframe or Solid again. If I minimize Deled while the 3D window's in Textured or Lightmapped, when I maximize it again, the 3D view window will be blank.

Now the reason I suspect this is my own fault is because my computer is rather old and doesn't have any 3D acceloration hardware in it. Does Deled have no software-based rendering?

Thanks for reading. Later.

DeleD uses OpenGL for it's rendering, so I am guessing you need to update your drivers (if possible). DeleD just issues it's commands to OpenGL, wether the underlying implementation is hardware or software it can't tell (nor does it care Wink).

I am sorry if this answer is disappointing, but we don't have plans to introduce a software rendering path (not real time at least) in DeleD at any point in the future. In general, computers that don't feature hardware rendering are simply not powerful enough to work out anything but the most basic editing functions anyway.

Then the question would be: What does somebody with no 3D acceleration card with a 3D modeler? Razz

I was going to ask the same question, but then I thought: maybe he wants to create some lowpoly models to test his software rendering engine or raytracer Very Happy
