CAN WE ROTATE VERTICE IN DELED?(IS IT COMING?)
I KNOW I CAN USE SHIFT+LEFTMOUSE+DRAG TO SELECT AN GROUP OF THING
(VERTICE,FACES,ECT.).
BUT WHY CANN'T I USE SHIFT+CTRL+LEFTMOUSE+DRAG TO SELECT MORE
THING WITHOUT DESELCTING THE FIRST GROUP. I KNOW THAT IT DOSEN'T WORK
THAT WAY RIGHT NOW ,BUT I WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO.
JUST TO LET YOU KNOW I HAVE BEEN USING DELED FOR AWHILE AND JUST GOT
DELEDPRO.
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK AND THANKS. |

Yes you can rotate vertices in DeleD. It already is implemented but the function was disabled during our last build. I have enabled it again and will release an update shortly.
Your suggestion about selecting more stuff like that is a good one. I will work on that!
Btw, your caps-lock seems to be broken... |

And thanks for the quick reply jeroen. Will the c.s.g. tool be in the next release? |

I will most likely release a 1.22 version without CSG but with the Connect Vertice and Rotate Vertice commands enabled. I'll work on that this week.
1.3 will take a while yet because the CSG routines need to be worked on. Rest assured, they will be in 1.3 and we plan to release 1.3 after 1.22. |

I've seen both Vertex and Vertice being used for the same thing. I choose to use Vertice. I could have chosen Hoekpunt as well. Or... In short: what's in a name? |

Vertice isn't a word though. Don't try to learn english by reading on the net. It's very bad on the net.

You're right, of course. But Vertice/Vertex are such specific words, we don't learn those in english class here in Holland. |

Why not just refer to them in some language that is universally understood? like openGL or Direct3D? Or perhaps we could write a universal library for them like VECTOR3
VECTOR3 rotates are cool! VECTOR3 and VECTOR3s are great too! See how versatile it is? |

Man that was fast, either I had great timming or having my cap lock on got a quick reponse. LOL
Thanks for the selecting fix.
Here a couple you mite what put on your todo list;
In rotating vertex or object have a check box that say something like "user point".
If the box is cecked then the user can pick the center of rotation with the mouse and
rotate the vertex/object from the 2d viewport.
Deselecting using shift+ctrl+leftmouse+drag over thing already selected would deslected them.
In the object inspector you have the center point of the object. Can this put in the
.dmf file wend save. This would save me alot of time in typing this into the user info.
these are not that big of adeal, but mite be nice for others as will.(me for sure)
Just some thoughts.
Can't wait for the carve tool in the next update.
Thank again and
Bye for now. |

Your request for a custom center of rotation ('pivot points') has been put on the todo-list, we have been wanting to implement that for a while anyway.
I don't think I agree with your suggestion for deselection, I don't know of any rubberband-selection ('dragging') implementation that works by "toggling", it's always a simple select all v.s. deselect all operation. I think that would make the selection operation become really complex really quick. But maybe I am just seeing things wrong, the decision is up to Jeroen
About the object center, that is simply the mathematical center of the objects AABB (i.e. the center of the min/max values of all vertices). There is no reason to store it since you can directly deduct the information from the vertices. That will of course change once we implement pivots ('custom center'). Hope that helps |

Thanks Paul about object center, I knew it could be done just don't know how to do it.
I don't understand how custom center will change that. Getting the object center from the vertex should still be the same?( yes)
About selecting/deseltecting using mouse+drag. In milkshape this can be done and can be a nice thing from time to time, but like i said not a big deal. |

Yeah, you are correct: getting the object center will stay the same. What I meant to say is that we will put the custom center in the file, so you could read that information from there as well if you wanted to.
About selecting/deselecting, thanks for the implementation reference, didn't know Milkshape supported this. We'll definitely look into it (at some point). Ideas like this are always welcome, no matter wether they are high or low priority. Thanks, and keep them coming |
