I've been playing with 1.3 all day and can't figure out how to make an object transperant. I can't find any settings for it at all.

I have 2 textures. 1 is the alpha map of the other. I have no clue how to apply it. If I select the alphablend option, it just replaces the original texture.

This might help

View and edit 32-bit TGA images with this free program. Load an alpha channel from a file, or create one based on pixel brightness, mask color, or uniform transparency level.

Have transperancy working now:

But...

http://gallery.3dcentral.net/screenshots/trans_irr This is how it looks in Irrlicht.
I'm using dx9 which supports transperancy, so I don't know what the problem is. Most likey it's an irrlicht thing.

About that little TGA tool... rumor has it that a similar tool might be provided with DeleD in the future Wink

I am not sure what blendmodes the Irrlicht dmf loader supports, looks like the AlphaBlend mode is simply ignored. At least, I am assuming you loaded the file into Irrlicht as a .dmf, and not as a .X or anything?

I am loading the
dmf into irrlicht directly. Niko may not have updated the format in irrlicht to read it.
I'll try it in the x format and see what that does for me. Smile
Nice to hear that rumor too. Smile

I don't think an .X file will do the trick for you, afaik it doesn't support blend mode settings (so DeleD doesn't even attempt to save them), and even if it does I am pretty sure the Irrlicht .X loader wouldn't support it. I'll give the irrlicht dmf loader a look in a minute.
