There are 4 default views – Top, side, front and 3D views. Is it possible to change one of the views to, for example, a rear view?

Rear would look the same as front, just reversed.

But say I’m modelling a car. I want to see what the rear of the car looks like as well as the front.

Move the mouse in the 3d view. You can travel anywhere you want with it, and F1 to F4 will show different shading modes.

The modelling views are orthographical. It would appear the same as the front, showing all the lines that make up the shapes in your car. Since the car is symertrical, the front and back view would render out the same thing in the 2d modelling window. As the lines don't get affected by distance. It's a flat blueprint.
