You should select 1 object in DeleD and go to the File - Export menu. You can export to a DeleD prefab there. Make sure you save your file into a prefab folder and it should work (do not save it into the Prefabs folder itself, put it in a subdirectory of the Prefab folder).

You should never have to use Windows Explorer (or some simular program) to check those files yourself. Remember, do everything from within DeleD.

Just a thought on this..
Would it be possible to have DeleD make the folder for an exported model? If it isnt named, deled asks for a name. Then, it makes a folder under that name, and saves the dpf by the same name. It might take some of the confusion out.
Sorry about hijacking your thread Stefan.

But that would leave you with just a single prefab per node in the prefab tree?

As in : I am saving "lighthouse", and end up with lighthouse\lighthouse.dpf . Next time I save "LighthouseBigTower", and end up with LighthouseBigTower\Lighthousebigtower.dpf.

Perhaps that isn't quite what you meant, please elaborate, ideas to make the interface more intuitive are always welcome! Smile

As a sidenote, I think a simple tutorial on this topic would clear up most issues. A tutorial dedicated to prefabs is already on our planning. Now all we need is the time to get things going and get the new tutorial structure online.

Ok. I did some work with the prefabs yesterday and see what you are talking about. I was under the impression the folder had to be under the same name as the object. (found out differently.)
