I don't know if this has been brought up, but I think that Cylinders, and other shapes that don't have snap-to-gridability should have a snap-to-grid function, if it isn't too hard to implement.

It's already there.

Right click on your object and bring up the properties. There is a snap method setting. There is a snap around the center, and a vertice snap. Be careful with vertex snapping, it may ruin your cylynder shape.
